Mentoring and Education
If you have any questions please email us through the CONTACT US page.

For the Spring of 2011, the following areas of Huronia District usually have Spring Education Courses arranged. Due to the large region that our District covers, these courses may be repeat lectures. All Referees in Huronia should attend at least one of the Spring lectures. (click on the club for further information)

These are the 2011 clinics. I will leave them here until we get the 2012 dates so you have an idea of location and dates.

MENTORING REFEREES IN HURONIA

First - we must all know the Laws of the Game. Then, we all learn best by getting out and doing what we are supposed to do, on the soccer field, but real learning also requires listening to more experience referees give us hints on how to improve our game - not assessing your game, that is done by the OSA .... mentoring. Sometimes, in the heat of the game, we do not realize that the things that we are doing and not doing, as a referee or an assistant referee. Little things often make a big difference in our ability to control that difficult game. Whether you are an experienced referee or a referee just starting - we all can benefit from mentoring. (This is not an assessment by the OSA)

To the best of our ability, the HDSRA wants to help you by mentoring you on the field.

For
Mentoring
Contact

Referees must contact the Club Head Referee to obtain Club Level Mentoring. To obtain District Level Mentoring, the Referee is to make a request to the Club Head Referee who will pass on the request to the District Referee Coordinator. Club Head Referees are able to request a District Level Mentoring for referees within their club who are thought to be ready to be assigned games at a higher level.

Members of HDSRA, may request HDSRA Mentoring directly, by contacting, Ken Van Dyk, the HDSRA Mentor Coordinator. HDSRA may request District Level Mentoring for HDSRA members directly to the DRC.

We also need referees to join the HDSRA and volunteer some time to mentor younger and less experienced referees. You will be compensated for your out-of-pocket expenses by HDSA. We are all more experienced than someone else and can help that person grow as a referee. Link to 2011 Mentoring Class
